When not at her desk Emma enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter as well running Brownies and Rainbows for Girlguiding UK in her local area.

Etienne Mermillod

Software Development Manager

Etienne is a seasoned ASP.NET Core Full Stack Developer. He takes great pride in building world-class applications while carefully considering the needs of its users and ease of use.

Originally from France, Etienne now calls Canada Home, where he is part of SBP Canada as a member of the API Solutions Development Team.

Etienne is a well-seasoned traveler and has visited many countries where he usually takes the path less traveled in order to backpack around and soak in the local cultures.

When not coding away, you may expect Etienne to be playing with his huge and fluffy dog Indianna or gaming away on League of Legends

David Bower

Smartsheet and AppSheet Consultant

David is an experienced Smartsheet Consultant, Customer Care Specialist and Client Account Manager.

In his spare time, David plays guitar, is learning to ride a motorcycle and, when it’s not too cold, can often be found tinkering in the garage. He also intends to learn to play the piano too - one day

Seasoned Smartsheet consultant and Training professional, Debbie’s creativity, attention to detail, willingness to deliver solutions to fully meet customer requirements and her personable manner earn her excellent client feedback.

When not working, Debbie likes to relax by spending quality time with her family. Living in the New Forest sees her taking many walks through the woods and down to the sea fronts at Lepe and Calshot. Debbie is also a keen hula hooper and has been hooping now for more than 7 years! She owns at least 10 hoops and enjoys a great workout helping her friend to run a hula hoop fitness class.

Dr James Harris

Chief Technology Officer

An experienced IT professional, James has worked for software companies as a Programmer and Test Analyst. He also has extensive experience as a Finance Manager. James brings an attention to detail and flair for problem solving to every project.

Outside of work, James writes comedy, and has had many television credits over the past couple of decades on shows such as Horrible Histories and Russell Howard's Good News. He retains a burning ambition to be as funny as his wife and daughter.

His rapidly expanding team of experienced Smartsheet and AppSheet Consultants and Trainers share the company's values of achieving improved efficiencies and collaboration by putting people first and releasing them from unnecessary repetitive activities so they can enjoy their work again and focus on what matters to them.

Lancashire Football Association works Smarter with Smartsheet

Lancashire FA, is the governing body of football within the historical county boundaries of Lancashire, England. They are responsible for the governance and development of football at all levels in the county.

 The Challenge

Having chosen Smartsheet as their work management  tool of choice and booked their first Smartsheet Discovery Day, it soon became apparent that they needed to get back to  grassroots and first define their processes. Smarter Business Processes could then start to help them build their specific Smartsheet workflows.

 The Solution

SBP’s Business Process Mapping expert spent 2 days with the senior leadership team and taught them the benefits of business process mapping and how to define and document their individual departmental processes.  During the workshop they identified the 5 core areas of Business Process Mapping; then using the Lancashire FA’s Project Process (real life example)  applied the theory learnt and defined the Project Process from inception of a project to customer satisfaction survey post implementation of a project, documenting all elements of the process using best practise process modelling methods of documentation.

 Since then SBP have supported the implementation of all departmental processes by working with each senior leader individually on their process documentation and giving suggestions.  SBP have run remote workshops for the team in setting up their sheets in Smartsheet and designing reporting dashboards to meet the KPI reporting required, implemented the Project Process in Smartsheet and trained all staff in how to use the Smartsheets to manage the process.  SBP have supported the CEO in designing dashboards for management reporting. We facilitated a solution by which the FA head office could oversee the projects that are underway, the status of them all reporting against their KPI’s. This information is live, up to date and available to them without the requirement of any manual updates or input.  We are currently working with the CEO to implement a PDR dashboard for each employee which will oversee the data management for running quarterly employee reviews. Next step for us with Lancashire FA is to implement a Xero to Smartsheet integration solution for managing accounting information through Smartsheet and various API links to other business software that they use to ensure the relevant reporting dashboards across the various levels of the company can be found in one place and not across multiple different interfaces.

 The Benefits

The Process Modeling has ensured that we understand how technology and in particular Smartsheet can do the heavy lifting and ensure that as a whole company we run far more efficiently.

The Smartsheet workflow solutions have not only provided us with unprecedented collaboration across the company but have also ensured that we manage our projects properly which was a major risk to the company 12 months ago.


I am delighted with the solutions Smarter Business Processes have delivered to date.  They have vastly improved efficiency and visibility across the whole cooperate structure  and more importantly have enabled me to have my finger firmly on the pulse of how the business is performing.
